RELIGIOUS PROPAGANDA

Religion/Religious Propaganda has always existed with religion, the belief of people and heart of spirituality that opposes certain belief in another or same religion which is aimed at confusing(note confusing not convincing) the public into believing the opposed religion is null is mostly referred to as religious propaganda. When it comes to religious propaganda, it exists in two forms, namely the intra and the inter religious propaganda.
      Inter-Religious Propaganda
as the name implies, INTER religious propaganda is a type of religious propaganda that is aimed at condemning a specific division in a religion, i.e., in the Christianity religion aiming a belief of the Jehova Witnesses that Christ never came down to the humans and so on. Inter religious propaganda is mainly/mostly treated as an invincible cause it deals little or no damage to the unity and standing of a religion.
       Intra Religious Propaganda
one of the main causes of wars, conflicts and vandalism is the intra religious propaganda that is extensively aimed at completely damaging the reputation, standing and believes of a religion which are mostly caused by using words and written statements in a religion’s holy book.

Firstly, I would love to state what propaganda means

WHAT IS PROPAGANDA ?
Propaganda is the spreading of ideas, information, or beliefs that are designed to influence the opinions or behaviour of  a group of people.  It is often used to promote a particular political, religious, or commercial message.
It is also a mode of communication used to manipulate or influence the opinion of groups to support of particular cause or belief of a biased or misleading nature in order to influence public opinion and promote a specific agenda or perspective.

Then what is religion propaganda
There are different range of definition on religion propaganda. Religion propaganda refers to the use of religion to spread a certain message or belief system, often for political or ideological purposes. It can take many forms, such as religious tools, sermons, or media campaigns, and involves the manipulation of religious symbols and ideas to promote a specific agenda.

In terms of Islam and Christianity, there have been examples of both religion being used for propaganda purposes and here is an example, during the crusades, the pope used religious rhetoric to justify military action against Muslim countries. Also, a movement in the Middle Ages that used religious rhetoric to persecute people accused of heresy. The inquisition also sought to censor and suppress ideas that went against the Catholic Church.  On the other hand muslim leaders have sometimes used religious rhetoric for propaganda purposes e.g during the Iranian revolution in 1979, the Ayatollah Khomeini used Islam teachings to promote the overthrow of the secular government has continued to use Islamic rhetoric to justify it policies and actions.
Now, in the modern era, there is a wide variety of religious organisations creating and implementing new rules, including traditional churches and Islamic organisations such as sunni, shair, sufi, and non traditional spiritual communities.  These organisations appeal to different groups of people, reflecting the diverse beliefs and values of modern world.

Also, I think that the methods and techniques have changed over time in the past. Religious propaganda has often been delivered through sermons, literature, and art. In the modern era, religious propaganda can be found on social media, TV, and the internet.  It I’d also possible that the level of religious propaganda has increased in the modern era due to widespread use of technology and the ability to reach a larger audience and lead to the incitement to religious hatred on an international or national level maybe in the form of war aimed at maintaining political control in the hands of religious elite against other religious in the society.
